Indonesian Flag Football

WHAT IS FLAG FOOTBALL?

Flag football is a version of American football that is popular worldwide. The basic rules of the game are similar to those of the NFL game, but instead of tackling players to the ground, the defensive team must remove a flag or flag belt from the ball carrier (“deflagging”) to end a down. In most organized play, players wear a belt. Flag football was designed in an effort to minimize injuries that playing tackle football could bring. That said, our league allows open hand contact between linemen as well as “bump and run” rule for defensive backs within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. Aggressive contact is strictly prohibited by any players as well as stiff arming, blocking with arms, elbows, shoulders or any other part of the body outside of the open palms of the hand.

You have to know about this:

The Pacific (TV miniseries)

The Pacific is an Emmy Award winning 10-part television World War II miniseries, produced by HBO, Seven Network Australia, Sky Movies, Playtone and DreamWorks, that premiered in the United States on March 14, 2010.

The Pacific is a sister to the 2001 miniseries Band of Brothers. It focuses on the United States Marine Corps' actions in the Pacific Theater of Operations within the wider Pacific War. Whereas Band of Brothers followed one company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment through the European Theater, The Pacific centers on the experiences of three Marines (Eugene Sledge, Robert Leckie andJohn Basilone) in separate combat actions.

The Pacific was spearheaded by Bruce McKenna (co-executive producer), one of the main writers on Band of Brothers. Hugh Ambrose, the son of Band of Brothers author Stephen Ambrose, served as a project consultant.

Synopsis
The Pacific is based primarily on two memoirs of U.S. Marines, With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa by Eugene Sledge andHelmet for My Pillow by Robert Leckie. The miniseries tells the stories of the two authors and Marine John Basilone, as the war against the Empire of Japan rages. It also draws on Sledge's China Marine[4] and Red Blood, Black Sand, the memoir of Chuck Tatum, a Marine who fought alongside Basilone on Iwo Jima.

The miniseries features well-known battles with Japan involving the 1st Marine Division, such as Guadalcanal, Cape Gloucester, Peleliu, and Okinawa, as well as Basilone's involvement in the Battle of Iwo Jima.

Hugh Ambrose wrote the official tie-in book to the miniseries, which follows the stories of the three men featured in the miniseries as well as stories of their fellow Marines. It was published in the USA and UK in March 2010.

Production
The Pacific was produced by Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman in association with HBO Miniseries, Playtone,Dreamworks, Seven Network and Sky Movies. Seven invested in the project for the right to broadcast it in Australia. Nine Networkhas previously broadcast the HBO productions of Band of Brothers. Nine had a broadcast deal with HBO's parent Warner Bros., but then HBO started to distribute its own productions separately.

In April 2007, the producers set up a production office in Melbourne and began casting.

Filming of the miniseries in Australia started 10 August 2007, and finished in late May 2008.

The score was written by Hans Zimmer, Geoff Zanelli and Blake Neely and was released on 9 March 2010. The miniseries premiered in the USA on 14 March 2010, on HBO.

Blogger released from Egyptian jail after four years

A blogger who endured a four-year stint in an Egyptian prison for his writings has been released, saying he was jailed for defying convention.

Abdel Kareem Nabil -- known by his blogger name, Kareem Amer -- is a self-proclaimed secularist who was convicted and imprisoned by Egypt for "spreading information disruptive of public order and damaging to the country's reputation," "incitement to hate Islam" and "defaming the president of the republic," according to a statement from the Committee to Protect Journalists.

The former law student at Cairo's Al-Azhar University is a critic of conservative Muslims and has accused his school of promoting extremist ideas, calling Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak a "dictator," it said.

Nabil was released from prison November 16.

The now famous blogger said he was jailed because he challenged tradition.
Egyptian blogger released from prison

"There are things we inherit without even thinking about them," Nabil said. "I tried to change my way of thinking.

"I tried to read what was forbidden in our house, things written by people who in my home and in religious institutions are considered infidels."

Nabil had at times been kept in solitary confinement, largely prohibited from communicating with his lawyers until late January, according to an Amnesty International statement.

His time in prison has rendered him a cause celebre among bloggers and other advocates of free expression.

But the former law student is not the only blogger to be arrested for expressing controversial views in Egypt.

In January, police detained Al-Jazeera producer Howayda Taha Matwali after her work on a documentary that examined alleged torture in Egyptian police stations, the statement said.

An Egyptian court found Matwali guilty of "harming Egypt's national interest" and "falsely depicting events," sentencing her in absentia to six months in prison, it said.

Others, like Egyptian blogger Wael Abbas, say they have faced cyber attacks from state security for years.

"There are troubles that start online," he said. Abbas blames the Egyptian government for "trying to hack your website, trying to block it, trying to disable your account by sending fake reports that you're posting inappropriate material like they did with my you-tube, with my email, with my facebook."

While the internet is among few spaces where Egyptians can express themselves freely, it is far from risk-free.

Upon his release, Nabil told reporters that police officers beat him just before he left prison, sending him off with a warning not to blog again.

3 teenage boys rescued after 50 days stranded at sea

Just over 50 days after three teenage boys got lost at sea, and two weeks after hundreds turned out to mourn them, the father of one of the teens rescued 240 miles from land said a traditional celebration is now in order.

"I couldn't believe my son and his boys were found again. Unbelievable," Tanu Filo, whose 15-year-old son Filo was among the survivors, told CNN Thursday in a telephone interview from his native Tokelau Islands. "I was on cloud nine. I was so joyful."

The younger Filo and his cousins -- Etueni Nasau, 14, Samu Pelesa, 15 -- were famished, dehydrated, exhausted and sunburned when a crew member on a fishing boat two miles away spotted their 12-foot metal boat and alerted his superior.

"He alerted us that he saw something immediately on our bow, directly in front of us," Tai Fredricsen told CNN Thursday from his 280-foot tuna boat. "As we drew closer, we could tell that it was a small boat of some type."

The boat was a strange find so far from land. "It's not something you go in the open ocean with," he said, noting that the boat was 240 miles northeast of Fiji when it was spotted late Tuesday afternoon.

And it got stranger. Inside were three naked teenage boys -- cousins from the Tokelau Islands 750 nautical miles away. Asked whether they needed help, they said yes.

When he learned how long they had been adrift, Fredricsen released his rescue boat, took them aboard his fishing boat, the San Nikunau.

"They looked very bad -- bones protruding from underneath the skin, but mentally strong, strong as an ox," Fredricsen said.

He moved them to his cabin's king-sized bed, where "they all fit comfortably," and began administering first aid to their burned skin.

"They were ecstatic," he said.

He also gave them electrolyte-spiked liquids as he had been trained to do in a first-aid class. "I just gave them very small doses -- they more or less let the drink stay in their mouth and they swirled it around and let it absorb in their cheeks very slowly."

After about half an hour, they were able to swallow, but he urged them to go slowly. "They knew I was trying to help, and they did what I said. The cooperation was just incredible from the start."

After a couple of hours, they were able to eat small pieces of dry white bread, he said. Four hours later, he was feeding them slices of oranges and apples.

"And then they were starting to get a little bit carried away -- they were wanting some McDonald's or some French fries, but I couldn't allow them to have that yet."

After six hours on board, the three teenage boys began to mingle with the crew. By 4:30 a.m. local time Thursday, they were transferred to a Fiji coast guard vessel, destined for a hospital in Suva on that Pacific island, "hopefully warm and cozy."

Throughout, the boys were smiling, he said.

Natives of the Tokelau Islands -- three small atolls in the Pacific Ocean, about midway between New Zealand and Hawaii -- the boys said they had set out in the boat in early October to travel from one island to another, Fredricsen said.

"The islands are pretty close and they can be transited quite easily with these small vessels," but they got disoriented after losing sight of land, "and that was it," he said.

The boys said they had left their island with enough coconuts to keep them hydrated for two days, he said. But they used a tarpaulin to catch rainwater and for shelter after their clothes disintegrated. And two weeks ago, they caught a seabird, which they ate, he said.

About the same time, authorities had concluded that the teens could not have survived and declared them dead. Two weeks ago, their families and friends held a memorial service attended by 500 people, in the island chain that has a total population of 1,400, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

But their rescue came just in the nick of time. "They did admit to me they had started drinking salt water two days prior to us rescuing them," Fredricsen said.

Drinking excess amounts of saltwater can shut down one's kidneys, which can be fatal.

The boys were spotted in an "unusual place" -- west of the Tokelaus, between western Samoa and Fiji, said Eric Barratt, the managing director for the Sanford seafood company, whose boat found the boys.

It was dumb luck that the fishing boat came upon the boys, said Fredricsen, since its usual port of unloading and operations is in American Samoa. "By chance, we were going to New Zealand to unload" because the boat was scheduled to be pulled from the water and inspected, a quadrennial event, he said.

Fredricsen called the Tokelau Islands and informed Pelesa's grandmother of his unusual catch.

"I just told her we found her kids, and it was total hysteria," Fredricsen said. "It was just amazing."

Pelesa's uncle, Lakia Kalolo, told CNN that Pelesa's grandmother broke the news to him and others. "You should have seen the village, you should have seen the people here," he said. "They were happy, very happy. Everybody was crying ... We gave thanks to God."

Tanu Filo described a similar scene, with singing and hugging among the villagers when the good news arrived. But when Filo Filo first phoned his father from the boat, "he cried more than he talked," his father Tanu recalled.

"I can tell you that he's tired and all, from the way he speaks," Tanu Filo said. "But he was so happy."

Fredricsen said the boys left their mark on him and his crewmates -- not only because of what they endured while lost at sea, but because of their attitudes after rescue.

"It was just an uplifting experience to meet these young men," Fredricsen said. "They didn't give up."

Tanu Filo said locals are "trying to plan a celebration in a Tokelean way." Besides the boys, he would like the tuna boat's captain and crew to join in the celbratory eating, singing and joy.

"I'd like to say thanks, and shake hands and celebrate ... together," Tanu Filo said. "We want to invite them to the feast."

Twitter hacker spreads Tsunami warning from government advisor's account

As many people have found, Twitter is a fantastic tool for spreading important news rapidly.

In the past it's been used to share information about fires in Los Angeles, emergency landings in the Hudson River, and most recently helping aid be transported effectively to disaster stricken Indonesians.

Andi Arief is Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's disaster management adviser and a frequent user of Twitter. After a devastating spell of earthquakes, floods, volcanic eruptions and even a tsunami hitting the country, you can understand why some people would be following him on the micro-blogging service.

After all, Arief diligently posts up-to-date disaster-related information.

Unfortunately, Andi Arief's Twitter account also caught the attention of hackers today, who broke into his account and started posting messages.

Perhaps the most dangerous bogus message posted from the account was a tweet which, according to local media reports, read:

Besok jakarta tsunami

which translates as "Jakarta tsunami tomorrow".

Hacking into a Twitter account that is used for disaster relief is bad enough, but for the intruder to also spread malicious warnings makes me think that this must have been the actions of a very sick mind.

Arief struggled for some hours to get control of his account back, temporarily setting up another Twitter account to spread important information before things returned to normal.

(Thanks to Google for translating that for me)

It isn't clear at this point exactly how Arief's account was compromised but a cracked password will surely be suspected.

Remember, you should always choose a non-dictionary word that's hard to guess as your Twitter password, and never use the same password on multiple websites.

Be on your guard against phishing sites and ensure that your computer is running up-to-date anti-virus software to protect against keylogging spyware which may attempt to steal your information.

Finally, consider carefully which third-party applications and websites you allow to connect with your Twitter account.

The Beatles conquer iTunes

In their first week in the iTunes library, The Beatles have managed to sell a ridiculous amount of albums. According to sources, the Beatle invasion resulted in almost 120,000 of individual albums sold.

Leading the way was Abbey Road, which sold just about 16k, followed by the White Album (13k) and Sgt. Pepper (11k). But what's really sending the numbers off the charts is the Beatles Box set, which includes all 16 of their albums and sells for $150. That set has already sold 13k copies, which adds around 210k individual albums to that total, meaning the Fab Four sold an estimated 310k digital albums in one week.

That's just incredible

'Angry Birds' coming to Wii, PS3, Xbox 360

"Angry Birds," one of the most successful mobile games in history, is taking its bird-slinging game mechanics to a new platform: the traditional game console.

Rovio, the company behind the popular iPhone and Android game franchise, says that it is working on a version of the game for the Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3.

CEO Peter Vesterbacka also told the BBC that the games would launch next year, although he wouldn't reveal much more beyond that.

Vesterbacka also revealed a second piece of news: the company is actively working on "Angry Birds 2." The new game isn't a sequel to the original though, but is instead a completely new game featuring the angry birds and the evil pigs.

As for the premise of the game, Vesterbacka told the BBC that, "the pigs will be a lot more active than just being slingshotted at by birds."

He also added that there will be a lot more of the pigs in "Angry Birds 2."

FINGERBOARD

A Fingerboard or Finger-Skateboard is a skateboard complete with moving wheels, graphics, and trucks. A fingerboard is 96 millimeters long or longer, and can have a variety of widths like 26mm (regular), 28 mm (wide), and 29mm and up (extra wide)

Playing fingerboard is more safety than skateboard, because we use finger not foot. There is some tricks on skateboard that we can try on fingerboard, like ollies, nollies, grinds, flips, and many more. This is a video that shows some tricks on fingerboard

Tech deck tricks

Fingerboard players usually have their own skatepark, absolutely not a big skatepark for skateboard palyers.
